OUR YELLOW MAREMMA
CYCLE TOURISM AN INCREASINGLY CONSOLIDATED REALITY
Thanks to the increase in cycle paths, Maremma obtains 5 yellow flags.
In fact, there are five municipalities that were awarded the CYCLABLE MUNICIPALITIES plaque in 2023 by the Italian Environment and Bicycle Federation (FIAB). Specifically we are talking about Grosseto, Castiglione della Pescaia, Scarlino, Follonica and Massa Marittima.
This recognition evaluates the commitment of Italian territories in promoting cycling as a model of sustainable mobility.
And to make these routes among breathtaking landscapes more known, here is the third edition of the CYCLE TOURISM IN MAREMMA guide with 25 itineraries of one or more days. Over 1500km in the land of the Butteri to be covered by bicycle with a variety of routes and altitude difficulties ranging from plains to hills. There is therefore something for all tastes and needs, from sporting to contemplative cycle touring, to those who interpret the bike as a challenge with themselves or those who instead get on the bike to enjoy the area in "slow motion".
The Maremma has an infinite number of stories to tell, just as the choices of itineraries are equally infinite, ranging from medieval villages to archaeological areas, from regional parks to coastal areas.
And for those who really want to "outdo themselves" here is the GRAN TOUR OF MAREMMA, a 350km itinerary that begins and ends in Grosseto after crossing the Metalliferous hills, the Tyrrhenian beaches, the spurs of Mount Amiata, the lands of the tuff civilization and the promontory of Monte Argentario.
The GPS tracks of all itineraries can be downloaded from the portals www.visittuscany.com and www.fiab-grosseto.it
A cycle path also starts from the Principina campsite which reaches the nearby Marina di Grosseto and then connects to the cycle path to Castiglione della Pescaia. Not to mention the cycle path that leads from the Trappola road into the wonderful Maremma Park
In short, adults and children will find with us the "RIGHT ROAD" or rather the "RIGHT CYCLE ROUTE" to experience a holiday dedicated to relaxation but also sport and exercise.
